Free Virtual Civil Legal Clinic Available to Low-Income People- Legal Assistance Form
The East Baton Rouge Public Library and Southeast Louisiana Legal Services (SLLS) are pleased to announce the launch of a new virtual legal clinic for eligible Library users. The legal clinic focuses on assisting low-income families and individuals with civil legal issues involving areas such as the following:
Evictions
Landlord-tenant disputes
Wills
Successions
Federal tax issues
Employment
Public benefits (SNAP food stamps, Medicaid, Medicare, Social Security)
Foreclosures
Bankruptcies
Consumer issues
Divorces
The clinic does not handle personal injury, criminal cases, or malpractice cases.
Southeast Louisiana Legal Services is a non-profit law firm that offers representations, advocacy, and legal education to low-income people in Southeast Louisiana. Legal services are free. SLLS serves people in 22 parishes across Southeast Louisiana. Federal income guidelines are used to determine eligibility.
